Eric Maynes release’s new melody, “She Dances With Knives”

25 November 2022

“She Dances With Knives,” a solid blend of groovy melodies and dense riffs that will have you off your seat head banging, it’s produced by Eric Maynes’ (Saves The Witch)

Save the witch

Eric Maynes‘ Saves The Witch is an instrumental music project in which he plays guitar, bass, and drums. His music takes complex emotions and runs them through a lush pedalboard, creating a sometimes synth-like but always guitar-driven sound. “Sometimes we struggle to find the right words to express complex emotions, and I’ve learned that in music, which is perfectly fine.” “We don’t always need words,” Eric says.

Eric’s Favorite Guitar

Saves the Witch is primarily an instrumental project that combines post-rock, post-metal, blues, and ambient textures. With his third album on the way, North Carolina-based artist Eric Maynes’ brainchild, Saves The Witch, returns with the heavy new single “She Dances With Knives.” With its well-arranged and well-written mood and textures, “She Dances With Knives” offers a sneak peek into Saves The Witch’s world. Saves The Witch began “She Dances with Knives” with the most appropriate build-up, that groovy deep intro with the subtle tribal bass melody served as a springboard for the song’s thick, sludgy riffs. The use of that fuzzy guitar tone added a lot of weight to the heavy riffs, and as “She Dances With Knives” progressed, its interestingly dynamic structure became loud and clear. Saves The Witch created a solid blend of groovy melodies and dense riffs that will have you off your seat head banging, leaving every heavy music fan satisfied and wanting more. This song was recorded in Southport, North Carolina, and all performances, arrangements, mixing, mastering, etc. were solely done by Eric Maynes.

“She Dances With Knives” is the perfect introduction to Saves The Witch’s work, which demonstrates Eric’s good sense of dynamics and changing moods without overshadowing the song’s primary mood. The guitar work is quite impressive, with well-thought-out and well-written licks and solos executed at the perfect timing, propelling the song’s flow forward. It was released on November 4, 2022.
