“Runnin” by Proklaim is a new hip-hop rap masterpiece that inspires us to work towards the things we love without hesitation in order to achieve them.
Proklaim is from Namibia and is clearly an artist who is not only passionate about the craft but also highly intelligent and detail-oriented. He is a pioneer, fusing the aesthetics of genuine lyricism with charisma and innovative production. His content is often message-driven, much like 2pac, and has a commanding listenability and energy that are refreshing. His tone is distinct, and he possesses versatility that combines reggae soul and purist Hip-Hop. Proklaim is a solo rap artist and songwriter who has been recording since 2011. He plays a bit of guitar but primarily raps on beats.
Proklaim is a voracious writer who draws heavily from Lauryn Hill, Nas, Tupac, Big Punisher, and Bob Marley. It’s interesting to note that when he first started writing raps, he couldn’t string together four lines on a post-it note. But now he has grown to love writing and does it almost every day. He made an appearance in the Kingz music video on MTV Base. The mind-blowing new song “Runnin,” which was released on January 8, 2023, will keep you nodding your head to the fantastic chorus. As the song progresses, intricate keys appear, and Proklaim takes us on a subversive journey with a textured hip-hop beat and flawless delivery.
“Runnin” was recorded on two continents and was mixed and mastered by Wojtek Majewski. The track is about running and pressing toward objectives you love. Additionally, Joell Ortiz made this track available for collaboration with any artist, and Proklaim accepted the invitation and produced this masterpiece. The rap verses have a perfect, quick, punchy, and clever flow. The speed and execution of flow are similar between Proklaim and Kendrick, but Proklaim‘s ability to switch between flows from track to track sets his artistry apart from Kendrick’s.
