Indie-Electro artist Little Tealeif announces New Single ‘Pedestal People’ and EP ‘Charcoal’ Shaun Hinton 33-year-old writer and producer, goes by the stage name Little Tealeif. After spending some time wandering the streets of Paris, Little Tealeif has returned to Kent with one goal in mind: to create gritty and complex electro-pop. The multi-instrumentalist, producer, and poet is currently residing in Kent. His music is instantly recognizable and addresses contemporary issues including loneliness, inadequacy, addiction, and self-belief. Over the years, the multi-genre performer has worked on a number of various projects that were occasionally supported by other artists. He is the sole creator, though, and he is developing his own style of "new wave" while still making underground beats for UK rappers. Tealeif's wryly somber lyrics are stitched together with threads of indie guitar and are accented by subdued dance beats; they wouldn't sound out of place on a bill alongside Hot Chip or Metronomy. Little Tealeif, The debut song by Little Tealeif, "Pedestal People," is a somber earworm. Little Tealeif, taken from the upcoming EP "Charcoal" (released 25 November), combines dance, rock, hip-hop, and pop elements with the skill of producers like Mark Ronson or Rick Rubin. Speaking about the upcoming release of ‘Pedestal People’, Little Tealeif said: “Pedestal People was written about acquaintances who had their lives together and I was a little bit jealous of that. I’ve come to learn that nobody has their lives together and it’s just a perspective on that situation of comparing ourselves to each other.” When asked about what listeners will take from his music, Little Tealeif said: “I hope people take joy from it and that they can understand the layers and the messages in the songs.
