Daniel: As an artist from Bexley, England, how would you describe your musical identity and the influences that have shaped your sound over the years?
Aaron Lewis Moore: I was influenced by many rock bands like Guns N‘ Roses, Nirvana, Oasis & Metallica. I have a wide spectrum of tastes in guitar bands ranging from Travis,
The Darkness, Pantera, Evile and many other rock and metal bands. I think having a wide taste in music filters out into the music you create.
Daniel: Growing up inspired by bands like Guns N’ Roses, Nirvana, Metallica, and Oasis, how have these influences translated into your vocal style and songwriting approach?
Aaron Lewis Moore: Being a big fan of GN’R in the beginning made me try to sing like Axl Rose but there was no way that could happen, it hurt. So maybe my sound of singing was from trying to hard at that. My songwriting is basic really, like Oasis structures I suppose.
Daniel: You’ve worked closely with producer Erim Ahmet, how did that collaboration begin, and what impact has it had on your development as an artist?
Aaron Lewis Moore: I met Erim through a friend and that fact I enjoy the metal band he plays bass in, they’re called Enquire Within. Erim helps me record my songs in ways I never even think about as I’m not heavily musically trained, as I play by ear mainly.
Daniel: “Miss Henderson” is inspired by your admiration for actress Shirley Henderson, what specifically about her artistry moved you enough to write a song around it?
Aaron Lewis Moore: I wrote the song back in 2005 when she really first caught my eye. I knew of her before hand but I enjoy her work in various films and shows she has appeared in. I like the fact she is done a lot of independent films too.
Daniel: The song was written back in 2005 but released in 2026, how has its meaning or emotional weight evolved for you over time?
Aaron Lewis Moore: Since 2005 the song is still a nice song. To me I know it’s about Shirley but to anyone else that listens to the song it could be about anyone they admire.
Daniel: Are there any particular lines or lyrical moments in “Miss Henderson” that you feel capture the essence of the song most powerfully?
Aaron Lewis Moore: A face like yours is never easy to forget, I think that line is a nice compliment about beauty. And your voice to me is a song of its own is also showcase the beauty of her voice.
Daniel: The track carries a sense of admiration and storytelling, what message do you hope listeners take away after hearing it?
Aaron Lewis Moore: I hope listeners hear the song and think about the people that they admire and are fond of and they can daydream away.
Daniel: Compared to your other work like “Hypocritical,” how does “Miss Henderson” stand out thematically and emotionally?
Aaron Lewis Moore: Hypocritical is a straight forward punk song written when I was 15, so it bleeds young teen angst and Miss Henderson when I was 23, so I think my music and lyrics changed with maturity and age.
Daniel: Can you walk us through the recording process at Erim’s studio in Bexleyheath and how the environment influenced the final sound?
Aaron Lewis Moore: I put down the basic guitar chord structure and Erim will then record the drums. He then goes onto the bass and after that more guitars are added on. Vocals come last and Erim had me working hard on vocals with different parts I would never have thought of.
Daniel: How did your newfound confidence in your lyrical abilities shape the structure and delivery of “Miss Henderson”?
Aaron Lewis Moore: I never really think I’m good with words, but when it comes to writing about your feelings I suppose it can come natural. Just write down how you feel.
Daniel: From melody to arrangement, what musical elements did you focus on most to bring this track to life?
Aaron Lewis Moore: I think what brings this song to life the most is the vocals and melody. Erim helped a lot with that. I had the song melody there but Erim made me record extra vocal tracks over some parts to bring what I thought was plain melody into something with more substance.
Daniel: Writing a song in 2005 and releasing it years later reflects a long artistic journey, what has that journey taught you about patience and growth?
Aaron Lewis Moore: I’ve always recorded things at home so the songs are always there really. It’s only now that I have the opportunity to record the songs in a way that I feel they should have always sounded. In this game patience is what can bring greatness.
Daniel: You mentioned not always feeling confident in your lyrics, what changed with this song that made it feel different?
Aaron Lewis Moore: It’s about someone I admire and respect so to me the lyrics reflect that. They’re not some random word spaghetti that I normally come up with.
Daniel: How has revisiting older material influenced your perspective on your evolution as a songwriter?
Aaron Lewis Moore: Playing a song I wrote when I was young now can feel really cool as I can add ways of playing and things I’ve learnt since to try new things in that song to make huge improvements.
Daniel: In what ways do you feel “Miss Henderson” represents a turning point in your artistic confidence?
Aaron Lewis Moore: Just play straight from the heart because at times that can be beneficial.
Daniel: Looking back at your early inspirations and where you are now, how would you define your personal growth as an artist?
Aaron Lewis Moore: I still have fondness for the bands that made me who I am, but I want to add my own flavour and originality into my songs as much as I can.
Daniel: How have listeners responded to “Miss Henderson,” and has any feedback stood out to you personally?
Aaron Lewis Moore: My song has not long been out, I’m not very well known, so not much feedback yet. I’m hoping as time goes on many more ears will find my music.
Daniel: Do you feel a deeper connection with your audience through this track compared to your previous releases?
Aaron Lewis Moore: I’m hoping this song will be picked up by people who like the lighter side of rock. As many of my songs have many styles I like to please many tastes in rock music.
Daniel: With more songs in your vault, what can listeners expect from your upcoming releases?
Aaron Lewis Moore: My next song is going to be a hard metal song. I want to show that side of me. I want people to experience what I can do.
Daniel: You’ve mentioned forming a band and performing live, what are your long-term goals, and how do you plan to bring that vision to life?
Aaron Lewis Moore: I would love to form a band so I can play live in front of audiences and bring my songs to life live on stage. Playing live can feel great and show people that my songs can change will playing live, which is what I find the most fun.
