INTRODUCTION
Hello everyone it’s your host Daniel and today I have with me Zak Richards Band from England, Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, United Kingdom, and today Zak is here to discuss about his recent single Cougar, welcome Zak. Before we begin our interview here is what you need to know about this artist.
Zak Richards Band is a one-man band and singer-songwriter from Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, England. With a background in retail, Richards draws inspiration from his life experiences and observations, crafting raw and honest rock tracks that often tackle tough subjects. As a self-taught musician, Richards records and produces his music from his home studio, which he has dubbed his mancave. With a style that blends punk and rock influences, Richards is unapologetic and uncompromising in his songwriting, creating music that is both thought-provoking and unflinchingly honest.

Having this brief Introduction, I’m sure new and current fans must be excited about our Interview today.
INTERVIEW.
To begin with, let’s review your recent work. What is the Inspiration behind Cougar?
I was on holiday and the chorus just came to me, I did not have a guitar with me so i wrote the words down. Luckily when I got home the tune came back to me and it sounded sort of punk rock like.
What is the inspiration behind the lyrics?
The lyrics were inspired by some older ladys I used to work with who used to go out on the town looking for young guys and would then brag about their exploits at work the following day.
This is quite a huge project for you, what does it mean to you as an individual?
This project is part of an ongoing effort to gain a larger audience so it means a lot to get some recognition for the years of hard work.
Could you describe how this release is different from your previous work and where this one belongs in the sequence of your career?
All my songs are different and I would say my music is difficult to pigeonhole. It’s punk rock, but I would say it’s one of my catchiest songs and I am very proud of it
What do you wish people to get from “Cougar”?
I hope people don’t take it too seriously it may offend some but its a bit tounge in cheek. I hope they see the funny side and the chorus is good for a sing along and would kick off a party quite well.
Is there a particular song other than this one, you are keen on that seems to communicate your message best and why?
I don’t think there is a paticular song. Many of my songs send a message I think that others can relate to some of them are personal to me and some are not.
What are some of the difficulties you encountered and some of the highlights in “Cougar” making process?
Most of my songs face the same problems and Cougar is no exception because I play all the instruments and do the vocals as well as mixing the end product, so there are a multitude of problems that can and do happen. The vocals are always the most difficult to record and get right.
How do you see this project fitting in with the present stage of your life both as an individual and an artist?
This project is at the top of my priorities at the moment and I am spending a lot of my time on it.
Since you released a “Cougar”, what has the reaction of the fans been?
I have noticed a few more plays on Spotify but nothing massive. It’s on plenty of playlists so hopefully as the campaign goes on it will gain more attention.
How can your fans reach you and your music whether through the internet or in person?
People can listen on all major streaming sites Spotify, Amazon, Deezer etc. I have a page on Facebook, and there are a few videos on Youtube. I don’t have a website as at yet, but my Facebook page is Zak Richards Band.
Where does this new release sit in the thick of those works in loads and loads of other work?
I consider this to be one of my best songs thats why I picked it to release as a single its actualily from a best of compilation which is out there but it has been re-mixed.
What’s next for you after this release? Are there any new projects or surprises that are coming soon?
There are always new projects. I never sit still, I am currently working on some new material with a sound engineer hopefully this will help me concentrate more on recording and less on production. Some of the new songs are less rock and more acoustic based. There will no doubt be more singles released from Under The Radar my best of compilation.
How do you cope with the responsibilities of being an artist while trying to have a personal life?
It’s all about balance you have to divide your time and compromise sometimes. It’s not a problem to me, there is no rush to get music done. It takes time to create, so I try to make it a priority in life but its not always possible. I don’t have a label breathing down my neck so I decide how it pans out.
What is one thing that your fans do not know about you but would want to reveal?
Most of the money I i have made from my music over the years I have donated to charity. Making music for me is not about making money, it’s about being creative and being recognised for my efforts as an artist.
Would you like to add any concluding thoughts to your fans or new listeners hearing about you for the first time?
Most people who listen to my music for the first time are usually surprised how good it sounds. It’s all recorded in my mancave which is not really a profesional set up. I have had comments like i have paid good money to here worse music than yours. The general opinion is its as good as if not better than other Bands that have a big following. The title of my Best of album is Under The Radar. This is me where i am at the moment.
IN SUMMARY
This has been an exciting session for us all Zak Richards Band, I believe fans and anyone out there just discovering your music for the first time are equally excited about this project. Thank you for the privilege to experience this masterpiece, its been an honor.

Here is my thought on what i have to say after listening to Cougar:
Cougar by the Zak Richards Band is a bold and electrifying rock anthem that embodies the band’s signature fusion of raw energy and classic rock sophistication. The track, featured on their Under the Radar (Best Of) compilation and later released as a standalone single, showcases Zak Richards’ masterful guitar work and dynamic songwriting. With pulsating riffs, a driving rhythm section, and a vocal performance that exudes both grit and charisma, Cougar captures the essence of a high-octane rock experience. Whether it’s the punchy instrumentation or the infectious hooks, Cougar cements itself as a standout track that resonates with fans of bluesy, hard-hitting rock.
Finally to our audience, I urge to listen to Cougar, add it to your playlist and be Inspired by it and on behalf of Dulaxi I like to appreciate you all by saying thank you everyone, See you on our next interview.
