Erelah

Alexander Platon—the mastermind behind Erelah—is a musician whose journey through the ebb and flow of life has crafted a profound and intricate musical narrative. Alexander, who is set in Svalov, Sweden, had a wide range of musical experiences as a youngster, participating in a number of ensembles, each with its own goals and difficulties. But his outlook on life and music didn’t really change until 2014, when he gave birth to his first daughter. Erelah took the heartfelt decision to leave the live music industry and pursue a different direction after realizing the obligations of motherhood.

This pivotal moment led to the creation of his dream home studio in the basement of his family home. What began as a simple storage area for instruments gradually transformed into a creative sanctuary where Erelah could delve into music production, honing his skills both formally and through the guidance of a producer friend. Over the span of a decade, Erelah’s commitment to his craft never waned. His path has been characterized by unwavering desire for making music that genuinely resonates, learning, and unrelenting determination. He was able to incorporate a variety of influences and styles into his songs by collaborating and networking with other gifted musicians, which became a pillar of his career.

After a decade of musical exploration and personal development, Erelah’s debut EP, “Epochs,” is the result of that journey. The charming single “The Flowers,” which was released on June 20th, 2024, is at the center of it all. It skillfully conveys the spirit of peace and quiet. The first piano chords envelop you in a realm of ethereal beauty and profound emotional resonance. The journey of “The Flowers” is evidence of Erelah’s skillful composition and ability to create a complex auditory tapestry.

“Epochs” is not just an EP; it is a reflection of Erelah’s life, capturing different periods of his journey through its five tracks. It embodies the essence of musical beauty, leaving a lasting impression on anyone who listens. Each song offers a unique narrative, brought to life by the collaboration of eleven talented musicians. The release of “Epochs” marks the beginning of a new chapter in Erelah’s musical journey, promising even more captivating music in the future.

I first encountered “The Flowers” by Erelah while searching for new music that could resonate with my current state of mind. Little did I know, this track would not only capture my attention but also embed itself deeply within my soul. Released as part of the EP “Epochs,” “The Flowers” is a testament to the decade-long journey of Alexander Platon, whose personal and musical evolution shines through every note and lyric.

I was enthralled with the opening piano melodies from the first listen. Their tranquil calmness instantly creates a meditative atmosphere. I’m drawn into a world where every sound has been painstakingly created to inspire and calm by these opening notes, which create a warm and inviting soundtrack. Erelah was able to capture the feeling of peace that he was trying to express with the piano’s delicate touch, which felt like a gentle breeze on a spring morning.

I was mesmerized by the ethereal beauty of the voices as soon as they started. With an elegance and passion that is at once foreign and reassuring, the female vocalist delivers the lyrics. Her voice glides over the piano with ease, giving the piece layers of depth and passion. I was able to relate to the song on a really deep emotional level because I could relate to every word she sang.

At the 0:22 mark, the introduction of a unique drum pattern caught me by surprise. The drums add a dynamic layer to the track, gradually building its complexity without overwhelming the serene foundation laid by the piano and vocals. This thoughtful progression demonstrates Erelah’s mastery of composition, allowing the song to evolve naturally while maintaining its core essence of calm and reflection.

I was fully absorbed in the musical experience by the time the guitar strings entered the group at 0:38. The track gains a hint of class and elegance with the subdued yet powerful guitar introduction. A harmonic equilibrium that is both lovely and moving is created by the guitar’s flawless interplay with the other instruments. There was a point in the song where it seemed like every ingredient was in perfect harmony, creating a remarkable harmonic synergy.

I became aware of a heavy bass line that was subtly present in the background as the music went on. This component deepens and enriches the song by providing a grounding force for the airy vocals and delicate piano. The mellow and captivating rhythm produced by the bass’s soft pulsations adds to the overall ambiance of the song. Erelah’s skill at crafting a multifaceted auditory experience is evident in this dense layering of sounds.

When I gave the lyrics more thought, I realized how lyrical they were. The ideas expressed in the words—growth, beauty, and the passing of time—are profoundly relatable to anybody who has gone through major life transitions. Erelah’s songwriting prowess is demonstrated by his ability to convert his personal journey into approachable storylines. Upon hearing “The Flowers,” I was struck by a feeling of universal humanity, as though the music was addressing my own feelings and experiences in a direct manner.

“The Flowers” is a remarkable track that encapsulates the essence of Erelah’s musical vision. Through its serene piano melodies, angelic vocals, dynamic drum patterns, elegant guitar strings, and grounding bass, the song creates a rich tapestry of sound that is both captivating and soothing. It’s a perfect representation of Erelah’s journey, reflecting his growth as an artist and a person. For anyone seeking a musical experience that is both profound and beautiful, “The Flowers” is a must-listen. This track, and indeed the entire EP “Epochs,” marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in Erelah’s musical journey, promising even more captivating music in the future.
