Hi everyone, it’s your host Faithfulness, and today I have with me Seema Farswani from Singapore. Seema is here to share more light about her musical journey while diving into her latest release, “Sketches on the Walls (Reimagined)”, an evolved acoustic interpretation of her original single released earlier. In Seema’s words, this version is not a remix but a thoughtful reimagining shaped by time, growth, and perspective. By embracing a live acoustic sensibility and warmer sonic textures, the track reflects a transition from darker intensity to quiet confidence, allowing the same story to unfold with greater emotional clarity and openness.

Welcome, Seema Farswani. Before we begin our interview, here is what you need to know about this remarkable artist. Seema is an Indian American multilingual singer songwriter, producer, and interior designer based in Singapore, recognized as an ICMA Finalist ’25 and Berklee Summer Alumni ’25. Her music reflects a global identity shaped by her upbringing in the Middle East and experiences in the United States, blending blues, pop rock, and world influences with the visual storytelling of design. Her debut EP Got My Mojo introduced audiences to her boundary crossing style through songs performed in multiple languages, earning recognition for its originality and emotive depth.
“Sketches on the Walls (Reimagined)” represents a new chapter in Seema’s artistic evolution. The original version emerged from a period of contrast and creative discovery inspired by her Chicago years, carrying darker textures and unresolved emotion. The reimagined interpretation reflects where she stands today, warmer, more spacious, and grounded in perspective. Inspired by travel and architecture, Seema approaches music through a designer’s lens where texture becomes rhythm and space becomes sound. Created alongside musician Rish from Mumbai, the track blends Spanish guitar warmth with Indian tabla, strings, and expressive backing vocals to create a soulful global soundscape that feels intimate, reflective, and timeless.
Having this brief Introduction, I’m sure new and current fans must be excited about our Interview today.
INTERVIEW
Faithfulness: Your reimagined version of Sketches On The Walls is described as an evolution rather than a remix. What inspired you to revisit this track?
Seema Farswani:
This soundtrack received an incredible amount of love from listeners and radio stations — far beyond what I had expected. Hearing that response made me pause and reflect on the journey of the song and what it had come to represent for me personally.
That reflection led me to revisit the track. I realised how much I had evolved since the moment I first penned it, and the idea of recreating it began to feel very natural.
From the time I wrote the piece to its recent release in January, I had gone through three distinct stages of growth.
The first stage carried a sense of adrenaline — navigating uncertainty and the emotional intensity that comes with searching for direction. The second stage represents transformation, where experiences begin to leave their marks, almost like sketches forming on the walls of our journey. The final stage carries warmth and clarity, where those fragments begin to make sense and come together.
The metaphor behind Sketches On The Walls remains the same, but the reimagined version allows the story to be told with greater ease and reflection. The story hasn’t changed — only the perspective has evolved.
Faithfulness: The original composition had darker textures and high intensity, while the reimagined version is warmer and more spacious. How does this shift reflect where you are as an artist today?
Seema Farswani:
The earlier version carried a sense of urgency and emotional intensity. With the reimagined version, there is more space and warmth in the music.
As artists grow, we begin to understand that sometimes what we don’t add can be just as powerful as what we do. The openness in the arrangement reflects where I am today — more grounded and comfortable allowing the music to unfold naturally.
Faithfulness: Your music often explores identity, resilience, and growth. How does this track reflect your evolution since your debut EP Got My Mojo?
Seema Farswani:
Got My Mojo was about discovering my voice as a songwriter and exploring different musical energies. It was vibrant and exploratory.
Sketches On The Walls (Reimagined) feels more reflective. It represents a deeper understanding of storytelling through music — where atmosphere and emotion guide the narrative rather than simply the genre.
Faithfulness: You balance careers as both an interior designer and musician. How do these creative worlds influence each other?
Seema Farswani:
For me, they’re deeply connected. Interior design is about creating spaces that evoke emotion, and music works in a very similar way.
Both disciplines involve balance, texture, and flow. Whether I’m designing a space or composing music, the goal is ultimately the same — shaping an experience that people can feel.
Faithfulness: This version blends Spanish guitar with Indian tabla and strings. How did you approach bringing those elements together?
Seema Farswani:
The Spanish guitar naturally carries warmth and intimacy. I felt it blended beautifully with Indian rhythmic elements because both musical cultures share a deep sense of expression and storytelling.
Rather than feeling like a fusion experiment, the instruments simply complemented each other and allowed the emotion of the track to unfold more naturally.

Faithfulness: Working alongside Rish brought expressive backing vocals and nuanced instrumentation. How did this collaboration shape the sound you envisioned?
Seema Farswani:
Rish brought a very organic musical sensitivity to the process. His incredible expertise on evocative backing vocals and percussion added more depth and elevated the song in a very natural way.
The intention was always to keep the piece intimate — almost like capturing a live musical moment. His understanding of musical restraint and space helped shape the arrangement beautifully, allowing the warmth of the track to come through while supporting the emotional arc of the song.
Faithfulness: You often describe music through a designer’s lens, where texture becomes rhythm and space becomes sound. Can you elaborate?
Seema Farswani:
My background in interior design has definitely influenced the way I approach music. In design, you think about balance, texture, light, and the way people move through a space.
Music works similarly. A melody can feel like structure, rhythm creates movement, and silence becomes negative space. I often think of songs like environments — where every sound contributes to the atmosphere.
Faithfulness: The track’s evolution mirrors transformation from shadow to warmth. What musical choices helped convey this journey sonically?
Seema Farswani:
We focused on tonal warmth and subtle dynamics. The Spanish guitar creates a softer emotional palette, while the tabla introduces a gentle rhythmic pulse that anchors the piece. The strings then lift the arrangement and bring a sense of openness.
Rather than dramatic transitions, the song unfolds gradually, allowing the listener to move through the emotional arc naturally.
Faithfulness: Having lived across the Middle East, the United States, and Singapore, how have those experiences influenced your songwriting?
Seema Farswani:
Living across different cultures expands your perspective. You hear different musical traditions, languages, and rhythms, and those influences inevitably shape the way you create.
My songwriting often reflects that blend. It isn’t something I consciously plan — it simply mirrors the environments and experiences that have shaped my journey.
Faithfulness: How do you maintain the emotional core of a song while reshaping its sound?
Seema Farswani:
The emotional core of a song usually lives in the melody and lyrics. As long as those remain intact, the arrangement can evolve.
With the reimagined version, the goal wasn’t to change the story but to allow it to breathe in a different sonic space.
Faithfulness: Sketches On The Walls serves as a metaphor for the human journey. What inspired that imagery?
Seema Farswani:
The idea came from the way experiences leave traces in our lives — like sketches on a wall. Some memories remain vivid, while others fade with time.
Together they form the story of who we are becoming. The song reflects that process of reflection, resilience, and growth.
Faithfulness: What do you hope listeners take away from the reimagined version?
Seema Farswani:
I hope listeners experience a sense of calm reflection. The reimagined version carries more warmth and openness, allowing the emotion of the song to resonate in a quieter and more intimate way.
Faithfulness: You emphasize narrative-led songwriting rather than following trends. How does that shape your connection with global audiences?
Seema Farswani:
I’ve always believed that stories travel further than trends. Trends may change quickly, but human experiences remain timeless.
When a song is rooted in genuine emotion and storytelling, listeners can often find pieces of their own journey within it.
Faithfulness: With your focus on cross-cultural fusion and acoustic textures, how do you envision your music evolving?
Seema Farswani:
I’m very interested in continuing to explore acoustic textures and global influences while keeping storytelling at the heart of the music.
For me, evolution isn’t about constantly changing direction — it’s about deepening the sound and allowing each project to reveal something new.
Faithfulness: Looking ahead, what excites you most about the next chapter of your musical journey?
Seema Farswani:
What excites me most is continuing to create music that bridges cultures and experiences. Collaboration is something I value deeply because it introduces new perspectives into the creative process.
Every project becomes another opportunity to explore sound, storytelling, and connection.

HAVING LISTENED TO ‘Sketches On The Walls (Reimagined)’, HERE ARE MY HONEST THOUGHTS
“Sketches On The Walls (Reimagined)” feels less like a revision and more like a thoughtful continuation of the original song’s emotional journey. The live acoustic atmosphere immediately stands out, creating a warm and spacious environment where every element has room to breathe. Seema Farswani’s vocal delivery is intimate and controlled, beginning with a fragile vulnerability before gradually opening into a more assured and grounded tone as the arrangement develops. The instrumentation plays a crucial role in shaping the track’s identity, blending Spanish acoustic textures with Indian melodic influences through the gentle interplay of strings, cajón, and tabla, which adds both rhythmic subtlety and cultural richness without overwhelming the performance. Careful production choices keep the focus on clarity and emotional presence, allowing the dynamic shifts between quieter passages and fuller moments to unfold naturally. Altogether, the reimagined version presents a reflective and immersive listening experience where restrained vocals, organic instrumentation, and spacious production come together to express growth, collaboration, and a quietly confident sense of musical storytelling.
