Pamela enjoyed writing with Dave and Scott very much. Because of how easily distracted and disorganized she becomes due to her ADHD, she refers to her band as the “Squirrel Train Band.” She mentioned that she would love to write a funny song about herself or her band name when they were talking about what to write about one day, and “Squirrel Train” was the result! She believes we all experience “ADHD/ADD moments” in our lives, after all, isn’t that why we start our days with coffee? and that many adults can relate to the lyrics of this song. She is ecstatic to have this song out and adores how it turned out.

Squirrel Train” is a humorous song about Pamela‘s ADHD struggles. It’s a lighthearted, self-deprecating dig at herself, as well as an apology to those around her that they’ll sometimes find her on the “Squirrel Train” and there’s nothing she can do about it. The lyrics are clever and witty and had us grinning throughout.

Squirrel Train” evokes both humor and empathy in the listeners. It recounts situations in which people have been frustrated with Pamela because of ADHD, as well as times when they have been exceptionally patient, and provides an insight into what it is like to live with the disorder. Above all, the song is about acceptance, even though she has had ups and downs with ADHD, it has always been a big part of her life.

“Squirrel Train” uses a train rhythm to back up the train in the lyrics, and you know you’re in for a fun ride from the start. This song has all the elements of great country music, including banjos, guitars, and fiddles. The guitar solo deserves special mention. With some incredibly fast triplets, this is a highly skilled and precise delivery. We’ve never heard better country picking than this. It’s fantastic.

Pamela‘s voice is lovely and clear in the mix, with just the right amount of country twang. This song gave us goosebumps and reminded us a little of Sarah John‘s great song, “The One In The Middle”.
