Emerging from the creative corridor of Pontiac, Detroit, and Ann Arbor, Michigan, Powers of the Monk (POM) is a duo defined by chemistry, curiosity, and an unshakable dedication to storytelling through sound. Built around the talents of David S. Monk, a multi-instrumentalist handling vocals, guitar, and keyboards, and CasSondra “Pontiac” Powers, whose vocals and violin bring a haunting elegance to their arrangements, the band thrives on a dynamic interplay between raw emotion and refined musical craft. Since their earliest release, a demo of “Firefly” and the “Freight Train” EP in 2022, Powers of the Monk have shown an instinct for evolution.
