Faithfulness: Before your music career took shape, what personal moment most clearly showed you that storytelling through music would become your path?
Stefanie Michaela: I think it was realizing that music allowed me to express things I couldn’t always say in conversation. Even as a child, I was drawn to songs that told honest stories and made people feel seen. Over time, I discovered that writing and singing gave me a way to process my own experiences while connecting with others on a deeper level. That realization never left me.
Faithfulness: Being a Los Angeles based artist balancing life as a mother of five, how has your lived experience influenced the emotional depth in your songwriting?
Stefanie Michaela: Motherhood has shaped every part of who I am. Raising five children has taught me about unconditional love, resilience, sacrifice, and the importance of showing up authentically. Those experiences naturally find their way into my songwriting. Life isn’t always polished, and I think some of the strongest songs come from embracing both the beautiful and
challenging moments.
Faithfulness: Your journey from your debut EP Turning Pages to this new single feels intentional, what inner evolution connects those two eras of your artistry?
Stefanie Michaela: Turning Pages was about growth, healing, and embracing new chapters. Let Me See the Real You continues that journey but goes a step further. It asks what happens when we stop hiding behind expectations and allow ourselves to be fully seen. The connection between the two projects is authenticity and the courage to keep evolving.
Faithfulness: You’ve worked with respected writers and producers across your career, how have those collaborations shaped your confidence in your own creative voice?
Stefanie Michaela: Collaborating with talented writers and producers has been incredibly valuable because it challenged me to trust my instincts. Working alongside experienced creatives taught me that my perspective matters and that authenticity is my greatest strength. Those collaborations
helped refine my voice without changing who I am as an artist.
Faithfulness: When you reflect on your identity as both a person and an artist, what part of yourself do you feel your music has helped you understand most?
Stefanie Michaela: My music has helped me understand the importance of vulnerability. For a long time, I thought strength meant having everything together. Through songwriting, I’ve learned that real strength often comes from honesty, imperfections, and allowing people to see the parts of yourself that aren’t always polished.
Faithfulness: With “Let Me See the Real You,” what was the first emotional truth or experience that sparked the creation of this song?
Stefanie Michaela: The song was inspired by the idea that so many of us spend energy trying to fit expectations or protect ourselves behind emotional walls. I wanted to explore what happens when we let those walls come down. The emotional truth behind the song is that genuine connection can
only happen when people are willing to be themselves.
