FROM LEGACY TO NEW ERA ROOTED IN LEGACY: THE VOICE BEFORE THE VOICE
Before the Sound… there was a voice that carried Generations. Before ZIONYX… there was Mahalia Jackson.
THE INFLUENCE OF A LEGEND Zióna Maré-Laveaux:
Mahalia Jackson is not just a Role Model to me, she is a spiritual imprint on my artistry.
As a Louisiana Creole Woman from New Orleans, her story feels close… familiar… ancestral. There’s something in her voice that goes beyond technique—it carries truth, pain, faith, and power all at once.
When I listen to her, I don’t just hear music… I feel something move through my spirit.
A Cold Chill. A Stillness. A Presence.
That’s when I understood — music is not just sound… it is frequency.
CARRYING THE FREQUENCY FORWARD
What Mahalia Jackson gave to the world was more than songs. She gave emotion without apology. She gave truth without fear. She gave voice to something higher.
That same essence lives within me.
I carry her in my:
Spirit, Soul, Energy and Frequency
Not to imitate her… But to honor what she represents.
FROM LEGACY TO NEW ERA
Mahalia Jackson stood in her truth and moved people without needing to chase the moment. That taught me everything. That taught me that real power is not loud— it is felt.
And that is where ZIONYX was born.
From the echoes of legacy to the rise of a new frequency, Zióna Maré-Laveaux now steps forward—not as an emerging artist, but as a continuation of something timeless… and the beginning of something entirely new.

Hello everyone, it’s your host Faithfulness, and today I have with me Zióna Maré-Laveaux from Fort Worth, United States. Zióna Maré-Laveaux steps into this moment with the unveiling of her debut single, “FLOW | ZIONYX — THE ERA,” a record that doesn’t simply introduce a song but signals the arrival of an entirely new sonic and cultural frequency. Released on April 9th, 2026, this track serves as the opening statement to her forthcoming debut album, positioning itself as both a personal emergence and a global artistic shift. Written and produced by Ashirah Bat-Yisrael Olukoya, the release arrives at a time described as a worldwide transformation, where sound is being reimagined as energy, awareness, and alignment rather than just entertainment. It raises a deeper question for listeners: are we hearing music, or are we experiencing a recalibration of who we are?
Before we dive deeper, here is what you need to know about Zióna Maré-Laveaux. She is a Louisiana Creole artist, songwriter, and visionary shaping a new musical frontier through her genre ZIONYX, a fusion of AfroSoul, alternative R&B, Bayou Blues, Neo Soul, and cinematic spiritual sound design. Her artistry is rooted in cultural memory and futuristic expression, blending ancestral identity with digital innovation to create music that feels both grounded and otherworldly. ZIONYX itself is defined not just as a genre, but as a frequency system built on presence, alignment, energy, and consciousness over noise. In Zióna’s world, music becomes more than sound, it becomes a state of being, a reflection of inner awakening and reclaimed identity.
With “FLOW | ZIONYX — THE ERA,” Zióna Maré-Laveaux presents a debut that reflects a larger philosophy of transformation. Created entirely through digital innovation and internet-based production, the track embodies the idea that modern technology can become a vessel for spiritual expression and cultural elevation. It stands at the intersection of heritage and futurism, where Southern roots meet global sonic experimentation. As listeners engage with this release, they are invited into a space that challenges conventional listening, encouraging reflection on identity, frequency, and the unseen energy that shapes human experience. This is not framed as music that rises above, but music that reminds you of what already exists within you.
Having this brief Introduction, I’m sure new and current fans must be excited about our Interview today.
INTERVIEW
Faithfulness: You describe yourself as a Louisiana Creole Artist. How has that heritage shaped the emotional and sonic identity of your music?
Zióna Maré-Laveaux: My Louisiana Creole Heritage is the Foundation of everything I create. It’s Rhythm, it’s Memory, it’s Soul. It carries Blues, Jazz, Spirituals, and Storytelling all in one breath. That heritage taught me that music isn’t just something you hear—it’s something you feel in your body. So when I create, I’m not just making songs… I’m channeling lineage, emotion, and lived experience into frequency.

Faithfulness: Your sound is often described as both intimate and cinematic. How do you balance those two worlds when creating?
Zióna Maré-Laveaux: I treat intimacy as the voice and cinematic as the environment. My vocals stay close—soft, intentional, almost like a whisper to the listener. But the production expands outward—strings, space, atmosphere. It feels like you’re inside a moment, but also watching it unfold. That contrast is what makes ZIONYX feel personal and universal at the same time.
Faithfulness: As the voice behind ZIONYX, how do you personally embody the philosophy of music as frequency rather than just sound?
Zióna Maré-Laveaux: For me, frequency is intention. It’s energy before it becomes sound. Every note I sing has to carry something—healing, truth, softness, power. I’m very aware of how my voice sits, how it moves, how it lands emotionally. ZIONYX isn’t about performing… it’s about transmitting.

Faithfulness: Growing up with Southern influences and global perspectives, what experiences most defined your artistic direction?
Zióna Maré-Laveaux: Being rooted in the South gave me soul. Being exposed to the world gave me range. I grew up hearing raw emotion in blues and gospel textures, but I also understood early that music travels—it evolves. So I never felt boxed in. My direction came from realizing I could honor where I’m from while still creating something the world hasn’t heard before.
Faithfulness: You’re positioned as a visionary redefining modern music. When did you first realize your artistry was meant to go beyond traditional boundaries?
Zióna Maré-Laveaux: When I realized I didn’t fit comfortably into any one genre… and I didn’t want to. That moment shifted everything. I stopped trying to belong to a category and started building a sound that reflects who I am. That’s when ZIONYX was born—not as a concept, but as a necessity.
Faithfulness: “FLOW | ZIONYX — THE ERA” introduces a new global sound. What was the exact moment you knew this track would define the beginning of something bigger?
Zióna Maré-Laveaux: It was in the stillness of the record. No Overproduction. No Pressure. Just Presence. When I heard it back, I felt calm—but powerful. That’s when I knew… this wasn’t just a song. It was an entry point into a new frequency.

Faithfulness: The Concept of a “Frequency Shift” is central to this release. How did you translate that idea into actual sound and emotion?
Zióna Maré-Laveaux: I stripped everything down to what feels real. Breath, Tone, Space. The music doesn’t rush—it flows. The frequency shift happens when the listener slows down and connects. It’s subtle… but it’s deep. That’s where transformation happens.
Faithfulness: This record feels deeply spiritual and cultural. What personal truths were you channeling while creating it?
Zióna Maré-Laveaux: I was channeling alignment. Knowing who I am. Being comfortable in my softness and my power at the same time. There’s a quiet confidence in the record—that’s my truth. It’s not about proving anything… it’s about being.
Faithfulness: Working with Ashirah Bat-Yisrael Olukoya, how did that creative synergy shape both the song and the ZIONYX genre itself?
Zióna Maré-Laveaux: Ashirah sees beyond the surface—she builds vision, structure, and purpose. That collaboration pushed ZIONYX from just a sound into a full movement. She brought the architecture, and I brought the voice. Together, we created something that feels intentional, elevated, and timeless.

Faithfulness: The track was created entirely through digital innovation. How did that process influence the final sound compared to traditional recording?
Zióna Maré-Laveaux: Digital creation gave us freedom. No limitations, no traditional rules. We could shape sound in a way that feels fluid and modern, but still soulful. It allowed ZIONYX to exist in a space where technology meets spirit—and that’s where the magic is.
ZIONYX – THE ERA
Zióna Maré-Laveaux: ZIONYX -THE ERA is not just Music. It’s a Frequency. It’s a Feeling. It’s a NEW ERA.
CHECK OUT THE RELEASE OF ‘FLOW | ZIONYX — THE ERA’
HAVING LISTENED TO ‘FLOW | ZIONYX — THE ERA’, HERE ARE MY HONEST THOUGHTS
“FLOW | ZIONYX – THE ERA” arrives as a striking debut single from Zióna Maré-Laveaux, introducing ZIONYX as a fully formed sonic philosophy rather than a genre experiment. The track immediately distinguishes itself through atmosphere-driven production by Ashirah Bat-Yisrael Olukoya, which favors mood, space, and drift over conventional structure. Drawing from Louisiana Bayou Soul and minimalist Alternative R&B, the sound feels humid, suspended, and timeless, refusing the urgency of trend-based music. Zióna’s vocal delivery is restrained yet deeply expressive, blending into the instrumentation rather than sitting above it, creating an immersive, almost meditative effect. Lyrically, the song centers on self-possession, cultural pride, and alignment, with lines that frame identity as something embodied rather than pursued. Rather than functioning as a standard debut, the release feels like a manifesto, positioning Zióna as an architect of her own artistic language and intent marking arrival of a new creative era.
