Hello everyone, it’s Tehillah from DULAXI, and today I’m delighted to be joined by Glen Brandon “Ziggy,” the vocalist, founder, and creative force behind London-based rock project The Mess:Age. Working across rock, alternative rock, indie, pop rock, power pop, and melodic pop rock, The Mess:Age has developed a musical identity built around strong melodies, rock energy, spiritual ideas, and a wider philosophy of awakening and creative expression. Today, we are discussing “LIGHT OF BLUE ‘Sugar Ocean Girl’,” released on July 31, 2026, and taken from the project’s second album, AGE OF MESS.
Before we begin our conversation with Glen Brandon “Ziggy,” here’s what you need to know about today’s featured project.
About The Mess:Age
Based in London, England, The Mess:Age is a music project led by vocalist and founder Glen Brandon “Ziggy,” with Paul Gold on bass and Jaime Page on guitar. Gold is known for his work with X Two Tribes, while Page has contributed to Trilogy and Dark Universe. Together, their musical backgrounds contribute to a rock-oriented foundation that moves across 80s rock, alternative rock, indie rock, power pop, commercial pop, and melodic pop rock.
“LIGHT OF BLUE ‘Sugar Ocean Girl’” forms part of that wider musical and philosophical world. Released on July 31, 2026, the single comes from AGE OF MESS, the project’s second album, and approaches its subject matter through a bright, summery musical setting. The song was recorded at Phoenix Production Studios in London, while its conception was connected to a peaceful ocean setting where Ziggy describes having a home studio. That environment became part of the creative space from which the song developed.
At its musical core, “Sugar Ocean Girl” combines a commercial summer pop-rock atmosphere with ideas that are considerably more expansive than its accessible surface might initially suggest. The song’s ocean imagery, references to “Light of Blue,” and spiritual concepts form part of The Mess:Age’s broader “Awaken Enlighten” philosophy. For Ziggy, the song is not simply about creating a seasonal or atmospheric record. It is also a vehicle for communicating ideas about positivity, unity, inner consciousness, faith, and the relationship between humanity and the wider world.
The project’s approach to songwriting is strongly centred around a singular creative direction. According to the supplied project information, Ziggy writes, produces, mixes, and arranges the Mess:Age recordings, maintaining what he sees as an important consistency across the project’s catalogue. He points to artists such as Prince, Kate Bush, Billy Joel, and David Bowie when discussing the importance of individual creative identity and originality.
The philosophy surrounding The Mess:Age extends beyond this single. The project is currently working on its third album, Speed Of Light, while also finalising its forthcoming fourth album, ALIGNMENT. A global world tour is planned for 2028, giving the project a future path that extends from its studio recordings toward live performance and a wider international audience.
Having this brief introduction to today’s featured project, I’m sure both new listeners and longtime fans are interested to hear directly from Ziggy about the ideas, experiences, and creative philosophy behind “LIGHT OF BLUE ‘Sugar Ocean Girl’.” So, without further ado, let’s begin today’s interview.

INTERVIEW SESSION
Tehillah:
The Mess:Age is built around a very strong idea of music carrying a message rather than existing simply as entertainment, and you describe the project as part of a wider mission. Before we get specifically into “Sugar Ocean Girl,” what personal experiences led you to see songwriting as a vehicle for communicating something larger than yourself?
Glen Brandon “Ziggy”:
When those in positions of power and authority abuse freedom and freedom of speech laws, the only thing left is to sing the words of truth to “Awaken and Enlighten” the Masses.
Tehillah:
“Sugar Ocean Girl” takes a notably bright, summery ocean-beach sound and places it alongside a much more serious idea about awakening and coming together. What interested you about using such an inviting musical atmosphere to carry a message that you clearly consider important?
Glen Brandon “Ziggy”:
well firstly the song track was conceived within a Paradise setting by The Ocean, where i also have a home studio built in, therefore within this peaceful tranquil setting, one can transcend and channel the mind without distraction, as i thought about how the manipulating “Liar Of liars” are selfishly and blatantly destroying Almighty Gods creatures and creation, therefore by creating a commercial summer Pop “Hooky Vibe“ would be the only way to communicate The “Hidden” Mess:Age, and obviously at the same time, be able to create something that uplift’s the soul for everyone to enjoy.
Tehillah:
You have described the song as carrying a double meaning, with one interpretation connected to what you perceive as harmful forces affecting the world and another operating through the song’s more symbolic and spiritual language. How did you construct those two layers so that the song could function both as an accessible pop-rock track and as something with a deeper meaning waiting underneath it?
Glen Brandon “Ziggy”:
Ha ha, wow, as a human being, do you really expect me to explain when divine intervention occurs? Therefore, I think you better ask either my uncle- his name by the way is Jesus ” or ask His father, ALMIGHTY GOD, for it is their hands that guided my pen to paper and instruments to recording desk, for as a pure-blood, I am still lucky enough to be able to channel into the Akashia, and “The CHRIST Within”.
Tehillah:
The phrase “Light of Blue” becomes particularly important to the song’s identity through your idea of “God’s Ozone” and the frequency associated with it. What does the colour blue represent to you within the world of The Mess:Age, and how did that symbolism influence the emotional atmosphere you wanted the listener to experience?
Glen Brandon “Ziggy”:
When demons try to block out the Sunlight “a singing stationary Angel“ and direct connection to God source that projects its Healing “high frequency” LIGHT OF BLUE “Orgone Energy or Ether” that resides within all living things, the Ocean, The Sky, you and me, it is the Spark of the Orgasm that ignites at the moment of birth, Death, and Re-brith, it is our immortal Vibratory Spirit. Wilhelm Reich tried to explain this, but the jealous devils locked him up just for his Healing free energy inventions and opinions? [ he sadly died in prison, and his crime? trying to save the world ]
Tehillah:
There is a fascinating contrast between the sweetness suggested by the title “Sugar Ocean Girl” and the much darker ideas surrounding the song’s concept. Who is the “Sugar Ocean Girl” within your imagination, and what does she represent within the larger story you are trying to tell?
Glen Brandon “Ziggy”:
She is the Siren within a man’s dreams, she is the ultimate temptress of love; she is the Mother Gaia; she is the Goddess of Beauty writhing within foaming waves of crashing Orgone. She is the one All men seek, but rarely find, the one with the sweetest Enlightening Kiss, she is the priestess of frequency , The Light Of Blue “Sugar Ocean Girl”.
Tehillah:
You have spoken about the song encouraging people to remain positive in the face of what you see as increasingly divisive forces. Rather than simply telling listeners what to think, what emotional state did you want the music itself to create that might encourage someone to approach the world with greater hope, unity, or openness?
Glen Brandon “Ziggy”:
CHRIST STATED “Live your life like that of Child”, That expression’s taken me a lifetime to learn, living fearlessly within innocence, riding the gift of life’s short journey, shaking off the chains of dogma of the mind, for it is only then will you find Euphoria within your hearts, Be not afraid of each other, or to live or to Love, for united we can reach The Stars, as the kingdom of Heaven awaits. [ along with that feeling and love-bubble of the innocent teen sitting on the front seat of the fastest rollercoaster ride ]
Tehillah:
“Sugar Ocean Girl” comes from the second album, AGE OF MESS, which suggests that the single is part of a much larger artistic narrative rather than an isolated release. What role does this particular song play within the emotional or philosophical journey of that album?
Glen Brandon “Ziggy”:
The Album exposes chaos by questioning authority at the End times we now live, along with generations of the masses who have followed blindly over centuries. Light Of Blue has many positive layers, as it explains that no matter what they try to throw at us, remember your thoughts are energy that creates all surrounding matter; therefore, keep them full of the miracles within your hearts, MANIFEST THE CHRIST, for “united” we can bring back “Eden”.

Tehillah:
Your music is intentionally difficult to place inside one narrow rock category, drawing from 80s rock, alternative rock, indie, power pop, commercial pop, and even yacht-rock textures. When creating “Sugar Ocean Girl,” how did you decide which side of The Mess:Age’s musical personality should take the lead, and what did the brighter arrangement allow you to communicate?
Glen Brandon “Ziggy”:
When the anti-Christian, demonic racists of division controlling mainstream Radio Stations around the globe actually BANNED ROCK MUSIC, then the next best thing to reintroduce that “rebellious energy” back into our society would be to create a “unique style” that fits somewhere in between, with a polished powerful clean modern production that cuts through the narrative, and a song track that every race colour or creed can live to enjoy, however The Mess:Age tracks are not intentional, they are guided by a hidden spiritual hand, THE HAND OF ALMIGHTY GOD.
Tehillah:
You recorded the track at Phoenix Production Studios in London, while your broader catalogue has developed under the singular creative direction of Ziggy The Mess:Age. What is it about maintaining that central creative control that allows the sound and message of The Mess:Age to remain so recognisable from one release to another?
Glen Brandon “Ziggy”:
To create any Music with familiarity within a song, firstly, there cannot be too many chiefs; therefore All Mess:Age song tracks are written produced mixed arranged solely by Ziggy; therefore, in this way, the Chemistry stays unique along with the sound. PRINCE is a perfect example of that. KATE BUSH is another BILLY JOEL, DAVID BOWIE all had unique, ground-breaking originality, I.E they were not SHEEPLE; “THEY WERE VISIONARIES” who led and moulded humanity into creative, outstanding direction. Therefore, if The Mess:Age Mission and Musical Journey could even come close to any of those aforementioned, then it would make one proud to be able to give something positive to society by Awakening And Enlightening The Masses.
Tehillah:
Your approach to recording is unusually uncompromising, particularly in the way you speak about the finished recording needing to stand on its own rather than depending on elaborate explanations of technique. When you listened back to “Sugar Ocean Girl” and decided it had reached the version you wanted the world to hear, what qualities in the finished record told you that the song had landed exactly where it needed to?
Glen Brandon “Ziggy”:
When witnessing the tiny hairs standing up on the arms and backs of the necks of the listeners who heard it for the first time, and upon seeing their reaction, its then you know within your heart that you’ve captured the essence in the bag.[ it still does that too all of us even after hearing it many times over ] TIMELESS.
Tehillah:
The phrase “Awaken Enlighten” appears throughout your wider artistic philosophy and fits naturally with the themes surrounding this single. What does awakening mean to you on a personal level, and how do you distinguish genuine inner awakening from simply being persuaded to adopt someone else’s beliefs?
Glen Brandon “Ziggy”:
The Mess:Age does not follow Historical ancient beliefs as such; it follows the Heart, The Christ within. The Universe was Spoken into existence; first there was sound, which clumped together to form light, to then become surrounding matter. I am universal Spiritualist, as the united-verse is a love song. and was created from a lonely God who sought just that “LOVE” [ upon the 4th Album ALIGNMENT is a track entitled I AM THE GOD, and it’s a revelation regarding exactly such mentioned subject matter.]
Tehillah:
There is a recurring idea in your work that people possess something valuable within themselves, particularly through your references to discovering the Christ within and the creative spirit of the individual. How does that belief shape the way you write about human beings, especially when your songs move between criticism of the outside world and encouragement to look inward?
Glen Brandon “Ziggy”:
wow Tehillah an outstanding awesome question, i’ll try my best to answer, The world is up against an OFF WORLD group or demonic bloodline centuries old, who’s jealousy and interference has dumbed down our human D.N.A and creative consciousness, at one time in history they served man,“GOD’S UNIQUE CREATION”as we are all in his likeness, therefore i try to re-ignite The human spirit/Software { D.N.A } using words and music through creative expression, in letting all individual’s know that they too have the capacity within themselves to upgrade their own software, by “harnessing positive thought” and creative expression, and as the planetary grand cross of hendaye ALIGNS us, re-booting the human D.N.A and shifting the Earths Vibrational frequency into the higher realms of reality “THE LIGHT OF BLUE” the revealing “REVELATION” becomes inevitable.
Tehillah:
The Mess:Age has already developed a substantial catalogue, and you are now working on the third album, Speed Of Light, while also preparing ALIGNMENT. With “Sugar Ocean Girl” sitting between the completed AGE OF MESS world and those future records, what aspects of your songwriting or musical thinking have changed most as the project has continued to evolve?
Glen Brandon “Ziggy”:
Absolutely nothing, as The Mess:Age Pathway is already in motion and set in stone by The Almighty upon its Mission and Musical Journey and is completely convicted to only that, as One Voice Can Change The World, and as Gods Fearless Messenger/Soldier Of Christ, my “Words Of Truth Are More Powerful Than Knives”. [ Music is My Sword and Non-Violent weapon of choice.“IMMORTAL”

Tehillah:
A worldwide tour is currently planned for 2028, while several more albums are being completed behind the scenes. When you imagine finally taking The Mess:Age beyond the recordings and into audiences around the world, what do you hope people will experience in the room that cannot be communicated through a streaming platform alone?
Glen Brandon “Ziggy”:
Well, sometimes playing Live, on occasion, can sound better, depending upon the Venue and audience; with that said, we hope The Full force, Presence, Spiritual energy, and Majestic power within The Mess:Age Songs will vibrate directly into the chakras… but it won’t be loud speakers or us lifting their feet off the ground; it will be The Power Of Almighty God. LOL.
Tehillah:
At the heart of “Sugar Ocean Girl” is an invitation toward positivity, connection, and what you describe as the “Light of Blue.” When someone encounters this song without knowing anything about the wider philosophy of The Mess:Age, what is the one feeling or thought you most hope remains with them after the final note?
Glen Brandon “Ziggy”:
EUPHORIA and “ENLIGHTENMENT”. For you are “The children Of The Dawn” GOD BLESS “Always Spread The Love” Ziggy and The Mess:Age
“‘Sugar Ocean Girl’ reveals how The Mess:Age can place an inviting summer atmosphere beside a much deeper spiritual and philosophical world, creating a song whose bright surface is only the beginning of its story.”

EDITORIAL PERSPECTIVE
“LIGHT OF BLUE ‘Sugar Ocean Girl’” presents an unusual meeting point between accessible pop-rock songwriting and an intensely personal creative philosophy. The bright, melodic character of the track provides a clear contrast to the expansive ideas discussed throughout the interview, while the ocean imagery and recurring references to light, energy, awakening, and unity give the song a distinct conceptual identity. Speaking with Ziggy also makes clear how closely the music and the project’s wider worldview are connected. The result is a release that is designed not simply around a sound, but around an entire creative perspective.
