Released on 1 October 2026, “On My Way” is a soft pop-rock single from a mother-and-son project based in Munster/Örtze, Germany. It opens with an instrument before any vocal arrives, and the pace stays relaxed from the first bar. That slow start lets you settle in and hear the story properly. By the end it has moved into a confident statement of hope, and that feeling stays with you well after the track has finished.

Claudia Heinrich-Witzenthaler wrote the song for her daughter Victoria, Felix’s sister, who kept working toward the life she wanted through years of setbacks. It speaks just as warmly to anyone who has been underestimated. The writing never pretends that everything was fine all along. It lets confidence arrive slowly, as an answer to frustration that was fully justified, and that makes the message easier to believe.
The introduction is where the song first grabs you. Piano and atmospheric effects blend together, and the ambience and melody make you curious about where it’s going. It has a cinematic, cosmic feel, and the cover art matches it well, with a lone traveller pushing on despite the doubts that followed them. Then a driving rhythm joins in. For me, this is the moment the song turns from tentative exploration into commitment. The doubt of the opening gives way to the confidence of a new path, and that shift is what makes the track stand out as a song of hope.

Felix Karl Josef’s baritone dominates the song. It is warm, rich and smooth, and it feels personal and confiding. There is real passion and depth in the delivery, so each line sounds like a message to one person and not a pop song, and the chorus carries that same sense of commitment. This was his first professional recording session and his first step as a solo vocalist after years in a choir. It fits the word that most of his takes were done in around an hour, with the remaining time spent on phrasing and dynamics. You can hear the raw honesty of that moment in the finished vocal.

The arrangement is dynamic and varied, yet it always serves the voice. It ebbs and flows around the vocal, adding warmth and interest, so the chorus lands as a welcome high point every time. If I had to choose how to hear it, I would put on headphones late at night and enjoy the ambience around the vocal and the fine detail in the production. I’m a fan of James Arthur, Lewis Capaldi, Tom Walker and Passenger, who all build their choruses on restrained verses. This felt like a similar approach that was more personal and no less powerful. I also want to commend Claudia for writing a track that fits its themes of overcoming setbacks and finding hope so well.

On My Way Turns A Sister’s Years Of Setbacks Into A Steady Rise From Doubt To Hope, Led By A Baritone That Values Honesty Over Polish.

Felix is studying engineering and has said that finishing his course comes first, so no official live appearances are expected for the foreseeable future. This single works as a slow-burn project that shows the potential of his voice and range as a solo vocalist, and I think it is a resounding success for a debut outside the choir. As a fan of emotional, introspective songs, I appreciate the honesty of this approach and the way a carefully built, understated arrangement supports the message in the vocal.
