Having this brief Introduction, I’m sure new and current fans must be excited about our Interview today.
To begin with, let’s review your recent work. What is the Inspiration behind LIVERPOOL?
Answer: As always my music has always been inspired by me and my thoughts. This time I was thinking of a way I could make a song that befits a wider range of audiences even though the message and its lyrics might be gritty and dark. This song was solo inspired by the daily life of the street guys, handling transactions, and at the same time making it known that these street obstacles won’t give me a blurry vision of my own goals and future.
What is the inspiration behind the lyrics?
Answer: Mainly the Premier League football club ‘Liverpool’ was the inspiration.
Using their motor ‘you’ll never walk alone, in my lyrics I said ‘Selina guide me, never walking alone Liverpool pon me’ … I was literally saying I walk with my ancestors, I am never walking alone.
This is quite a huge project for you, what does it mean to you as an individual?
Answer: Every project for me is just another way for me to tell my story and connect with my kind.
Could you describe how this release is different from your previous work and where this one belongs in the sequence of your career?
Answer: Liverpool is not just a song to me ‘IT’S IS MORE THAN MUSIC- IT’S A STATEMENT I THINK WE SHOULD TAKE SERIOUS’ but wrapping the song itself I tried to make it appealing for everyone to listen and vibe to.
But lyrically the message is far from the girls, steeze, and all the colorful things I was saying. Listening to the lyrics you will understand it’s more gritty; having me talk about the family and the future.
What do you wish people to get from ‘LIVERPOOL’?
Answer: I want them to get the real sense and picture of me and my mind … cos it is different here
Is there a particular song other than this one, you are keen on that seems to communicate your message best and why?
Answer: I have a song coming out soon ‘SNAKES’ another stone throw in getting closer to the people
What are some of the difficulties you encountered and some of the highlights in ‘LIVERPOOL’ making process?
Answer: Honestly, people complain about making this music I was expecting that but my producer (Tracebeatz) will tell you every session in making music has always been fun for me. I enjoy telling my story
How do you see this project fitting in with the present stage of your life both as an individual and an artist?
Answer: I see ‘LIVERPOOL’ as another chapter in my journal as an artist and also in my career. We should always hope for more right? More songs and more vibes
Since you released a ‘LIVERPOOL’, what has the reaction of the fans been?
Answer: It’s only been a few days since I dropped the song and I’m seeing people sending their ratings about the song and at what level they connect with it
How can your fans reach you and your music whether through the internet or in person?
Answer: My IG is: sayogtee … reaching me in person? I can’t say about that … maybe the studio?
Where does this release sit in the thick of those works in loads and loads of other work?
Answer: The truth is originally Liverpool is just a few weeks old. I recorded this song about last 2 weeks ago. It’s a fresher record than most of my songs.
What’s next for you after this release? Are there any new projects or surprises that are coming soon?
Answer: SNAKES is coming out soon
How do you cope with the responsibilities of being an artist while trying to have a personal life?
Answer: I like to think I’m having a little balance of both now. Just spend quality time with my family.
What is one thing that your fans do not know about you but would want to reveal?
Answer: Reveal? I don’t think I’m even holding anything back from them, if they don’t know now then maybe it’s just not the time or the person is still quite far from me as an artist
Would you like to add any concluding thoughts to your fans or new listeners hearing about you for the first time?
Answer: Nothing much to say than just share my song with another brethren if you’re feeling me
